Recipe Book Holder – A Great Addition To Any Kitchen

If like me you enjoy cooking, then you will find a recipe book holder invaluable in your kitchen. It’s nice to be creative in the kitchen whether it’s for your family, or sharing an evening with friends.

Once I start on a new recipe my kitchen tends to become rather untidy and my recipe book often gets buried under a multitude of other things. For this reason I decided to look for a recipe book holder which would both enhance my kitchen décor, but at the same time would be unobtrusive and enable me to easily read from it while gathering all my ingredients together.

The first recipe book holder I viewed was the Clear Solutions Wood and Acrylic Under Cabinet Cookbook Holder. This holder hangs under the kitchen cabinet for convenience and is easily folded up out of the way when not in use. It’s easy to use and keep clean and the thing I loved about this model was the fact that it’s easy to install. If, like mine, your husband is not the best handyman in the world, this is a bonus.

I found the clear cover was invaluable for keeping the cookbook clean, which is essential as my kitchen tends to become a war zone once I get completely lost in my creations. Gravy stains…not anymore!

This is one recipe book holder that truly is convenient for use with either recipe cards or recipe binder. The fact that it folds away out of sight when not in use, but is always within easy access, makes it a worthy addition to any kitchen.

The Clear Solutions Jumbo Cookbook Holder can hold a large cookbook comfortably, is sturdy but easy to fold up and put away after use. The width of the holder means that most cookbooks are completely covered while in use. The fold down acrylic front means that all the pages are protected from mishaps, even when being used by someone like me.

The sturdiness of this holder means there’s no danger of the book falling over. The back of the book is held in place allowing any thickness of book to be accommodated securely.

As I like to create my own recipes from time to time, I have my own recipe binder. I place most of them in the recipe binder in the order of their success with my children. This recipe binder will easily fit into the Jumbo Cookbook Holder on top, or behind any other cookbook I’m using at the time.  This is particularly useful if you’re combining ingredients from more than one recipe. The only downfall with this model is that it takes up precious counter space, of which I have a limited supply.

Finding A Good Recipe Book Holder

The next recipe book holder I considered was the Wood Cookbook Holder which I believe to be easy to use and easily adjustable. This holder keeps your cookbook open and has a wooden tab at the front which holds the recipe book or recipe binder in place.

It holds your recipe book at the perfect reading angle, so you’re not straining to see the instructions which can be extremely annoying when you’re struggling with ingredients.

In my home, and yours I’m sure, the kitchen is where everyone seems to want to congregate. Everything from school books to keys and bags is dropped onto the cabinet tops. Fortunately the Wood Cookbook Holder is plenty sturdy enough to withstand the invasion.

Perhaps the only thing lacking is an acrylic page protector. This just means you have to be extra careful when dealing with messy ingredients. Oh, and it doesn’t fold away so it takes up space on the cabinet tops. This one also takes up precious counter space.

This holder is certainly among the more affordable recipe book holders on the market, so it really depends on your requirements.

Finally, the Clear Solutions Under Cabinet Acrylic Cookbook Holder is well built and easy to clean. It’s constructed of clear heavy polished acrylic and can be folded away when not in use, leaving your workspace clear.

It doesn’t have a page protector, so if you’re a messy cook like me, you’ll need to provide your own protective covering. It does have all the advantages of an under cabinet cookbook holder, in that it’s easy to read while using the worktop above, and any spillages on the holder itself can be easily and quickly wiped clean.

Any of the above recipe book holders will make life easier when cooking up your favorite recipes in the kitchen. Everyone has their own way of working and so it will depend on what suits your particular needs.

I love entertaining, and have a family who always seem to be hungry. Providing delicious meals gives me a sense of satisfaction, and anything that can make life easier while I’m engrossed in producing my latest culinary effort is welcome.
